Filling levels

Why are wine bottles loosing their content ?
A perfect natural cork would be absolutely dense wihch means that no liquid or gas can enter or exit the bottle. Unfortunately those corks are just a nice wish and a pious hope. Therefore with time, wine is evaporating out of the bottle and leaving an ullage. Under perfect storage conditions and with high quality corks, this process is very slow and can take decades. But it proceeds. The problem of bottle ullage is, that air and therewith oxigen can enter and oxidate the wine. Spirits like Cognac, Armagnac, Whisky etc. are less .....

The begining

February 23, 2010

It’s strange to start from the very beginning because I don’t know what my first words will be. I have met Calin with his backpack, a young man who wanted to know a lot about wine and about wine fanatics. I grew fond of him instantly and I considered him a friend right away because he was extremely honest (still, he hasn’t changed), he was a person of “unbearable” common sense and he also had this wish to be a wine specialist, a wish that was so big that it made me feel ashamed about myself.
Later on, we met in .....

Home made bread

February 22, 2010

I have to admit that this recipe here is from my father, who recently discovered his new calling: cooking. At first, I suspected he was buying the bread from a shop (although in his town, Buzau it is difficult to find quality bread), then I accused him of becoming friends with some older lady from his building, just so that she would bake bread for him. All my suspicions were proven wrong when I saw him kneading a huge amount of dough.
Apparently there isn’t much difference between a classic recipe and this one (perhaps this is the reason why it is .....

Price segmentation

February 22, 2010

Our price segmentation (Euros/bottle)
We are not noting down the exact prices of each wine, because prices can differ depending on the region or country you are buying it from. Instead we are using a common international classifying system to group them. So you have an orientation, to what “price-region” a particular wine belongs to.
The groups are as follows :
entry-level regular level premium level superpremium level       megapremium level Icons
4,99 Euros 5,00 Euros to 9,99 Euros 10,00 Euros to 24,99 Euros 25,00 Euros to 49,99 Euros       50,00 Euros to 99,99 Euros .....

Crystal-clear, shiny light yellow tint with green reflects. A bit closed in the beginning having a slight smell like yeast and wet soil. After some breathing time it develops a typical fragrance of pure Mosel Riesling like green apples, apricots, fresh herbs and slate. Riesling-novices might be confused by its distinctly petrol-rubber scent but also this is absolutely typical for this kind of Riesling. At the palate, also green apples, pears and paprika, minerally with an enormous, clear acidity and freshening fine carbon-pearls until .....
