A very fine vintage for Riojas. This one shows an absolutely clear purple red with soft red-brown tints at the margin. Its nose appears still very young and rich, but typical Rioja. Plums, orange-peel, cacao, some bananas, new leather and forest floor. After some aeration it develops almost a pinot-noir-style with redberries, earthy aromas and soft hints of pieplant – great. At the palate we find a similar impression. A vibrant acidity in combination with fine-grained, lively tannins imparts juvenility and make it hard to believe, that this wine is already 15 years old.
